Strength is not the whole story
A television can show high strength while quality still drops. Quality usually matters more for a stable picture because it reflects how cleanly the tuner can read the broadcast.
Too much signal can also break reception
Boosters are useful in the right place, but an over-amplified signal can overload equipment and create symptoms that look like weak reception.
Read symptoms by multiplex
When only a group of channels fails, the issue may be transmitter, aerial alignment, cable loss, or local interference rather than the television itself.
Before you buy or book anything
- Record which rooms and devices are affected.
- Test with one known-good cable or one known-good location.
- Keep affiliate buying decisions separate from basic troubleshooting.
